Electrical Resistivity Investigation of the Bedrock Geometry of the Northern Sector of Kujama Prison Farm Kaduna, Nigeria

An electrical resistivity investigation was carried to investigate the bedrock geometry of northern part Kujama Prisons Farm Kaduna using Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method. The study is aimed at obtaining information on subsurface layering for future civil engineering works. area covered 200,000 sqm having five (5) profiles with six (6) geophysical investigative points each profile and separated 100 m apart. Ohm-Mega meter used Thirty (30) were established. To interpret VES data, Res 1D iterative software, surfer 11 Oasis Montaj software it revealed three layers Topsoil thickness between 0.3 - 2 104 4824 Ωm also, last layer considered as weathered/fractured/fresh basement has an infinite ranging from 45 10173 average overburden found be 17.8 m. fresh A3(6151 ΩM), A6(5089 B3(1067 E5(10173 ΩM) E6(1100 ΩM). From suggestive that been irregularly configured over geological times due effects intense weathering. Therefore, may works low bearing capacity.
